Josh oversees programming, staffing and vision-casting for ministry affecting children birth through eighth grade. Josh is a seasoned veteran in the field of education with a BA in Chemistry Education and a MA in Effective Instruction. Josh worked for eight years as a high school chemistry teacher, most recently at Valley High School. Josh has created a traveling, character-based chemistry show, filled with explosions, colored foam, liquid nitrogen and glow-in-the-dark solutions, that reaches out to elementary schools in the greater metro area. Amy has been involved in Children’s Ministry at Valley Church since 1999. She currently oversees the Early Childhood Ministry (birth-Kindergarten) and is the AWANA Sparks director. She holds a BA degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa and taught in the public schools for 9 years. She resides in Johnston with her husband, Brian, and three school-age children, Kyle, Alex and McKenna. Amy likes to read, travel (especially to Disney World or any place with historical significance) and spend time attending her children's sporting events. Email Amy

Beth has been involved in Children’s Ministry at Valley Church since 1999 starting as a nursery volunteer, JAM teacher, Bible School teacher, and 3’s room leader. She currently oversees the Early Childhood Ministry (birth-3 year old) and is the AWANA Cubbies director. She holds a BA degree in Elementary Education from Iowa State University and taught in the public schools for 5 years then ran an in-home daycare for 11 years. She resides in Urbandale with her husband, Brian, and has four children, Kirsten, Trey, Christian, & Elizabeth and a grandson, Zaden. Beth likes to spend time with her family and friends, attend ISU sporting events, watch movies, and travel. Email Beth

Andy oversees the 1st – 4th grade programming for Sundays and T&T on Wednesdays. He earned his BA in Communications – Electronic Media from Waldorf College in Forest City, IA. Before coming to Valley Church Andy served 3 years at Hidden Acres Christian Center as Chapel Coordinator, Media Specialist, and Worship Leader during its summer camp. He continues to lead worship for various retreats throughout the year, ranging from children’s services to adult chapels. In his spare time you’ll probably find Andy at home writing and producing music. Just recently he had the opportunity to compose a piece for The American Heart Association. Andy and his wife, Austin have a beautiful daughter named Emryn. Email Andy

Corey has 10+ years of experience with youth ministry and small group bible study administration with K-Life youth ministry, Kanakuk Kamps, FCA, and T Bar M Sports Camp. He attained his BA in Sports Medicine from Western State University in Gunnison, CO and post-graduate family ministry experience from the Kanakuk Institute. He has been in Des Moines since 2002 and has volunteered as a Life Group leader/ teacher and in the nursery. His roles include overseeing the 5th-8th grade programming on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. He and his wife, Tiffany, enjoy spending time with their son, Dane, and daughter, Finley. Val assists children’s ministry with a variety of behind-the-scenes work, including data entry, volunteer background checks, budget management, copying, communication, ordering, and helping with Visitor Check-In on Sunday mornings. Val is 100% Swede and %100 a Husker Fan, two of her favorite gifts of heritage from the wonderful Christian family God blessed her with. She has been married to her wonderful husband Joe since 1991. They have 4 great daughters, Virginia, Natalie, Salena & Heidi. As a family, they like to play games, hike, camp, and watch Netflix movies. They also enjoy serving together at Valley Church! Email Val
