q: what programming do you offer for 6th-8th grade students?

A: We have a Wednesday night program from 6:30-8:00pm at the Valley Community Center (4444 Fuller Road, West Des Moines) and a Sunday morning program from 9:30-10:45am at the Valley Community Center. We also offer various special events for students throughout the year.

Q: Do I need to register my child to attend your programming?

A: No registration or payment is required for students to attend our Wednesday night or Sunday morning program. They can just show up and we'll get them plugged in with other students! Registration and sometimes payment is required for students to attend our special events.

Q: Should I go in with my child the first time they attend programming?

A: That's up to you and your child. If your child has been invited by a friend, they can meet up with their friend before entering the building. if your child is coming alone, you are welcome to accompany them into the building. One of our adult volunteer leaders would be happy to meet you and your child and help them get connected right away.

Q: What's the difference between Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings?

A: Wednesday nights are more upbeat, relational, and small group-based. Sunday mornings are more relaxed, instructional, and large grou-based. If new students were to choose one program, we recommend they start with Wednesday nights.

Q: Who can I contact if I have questions?

A: Joe Budish and Ashley Quick are on paid staff in the Middle School Ministry and would be happy to answer your questions. You can either email Joe or email Ashley. You can learn more about Joe and Ashley by visiting the Student Ministries Staff page.
